Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 96:1-4
The Bible is filled with passages that command us to sing praises to the Lord. We are commanded to praise Him because He is worthy. He is God. He deserves to be praised and honored. He is compassionate and gracious. He is slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness. Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful. He cannot deny Himself. He is steadfast in love. He forgives wickedness and sin. He chooses to take the high cost of our sin upon Himself, rather than justly forcing us to pay for our own wrongdoings. He is just and fair and merciful. He is loving. He is all knowing. All powerful. All present. He sympathizes with our weaknesses. He does all the work so that we can have a relationship with Him. He walks through trials and hard times with us. He is perfectly holy and completely perfect and yet He still chooses us.
It is both our duty and blessed privilege as His children to sing praises to the Most High God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We want to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. He has done great things for us. He is great. It is our desire at Resilient Life Church to acknowledge the greatness of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and to worship Him together in song. Regardless of our circumstances and situations, God is always good. Even on our worst days, He has been kinder to us than we deserve. We begin each Sunday service with a time of singing to the Lord and reflecting on His goodness. He deserves all we have to offer and more.
